County Commissioner Ordinance - March 1991 (2), �_ • �'- :. ieba ORDINANCE NO. 91- � An Ordinance Of Gibson County, Indiana Designating and Establishing The Board of Directors Of Gibson County As A Solid Waste Management District WHEREAS, Gibson County has created a single county solid waste management district to be known as the Gibson County Solid Waste Management District (hereinafter "District") pursuant to I.C. 13-9.5-2; and FIHEREAS, said District is to be governed by a Board of Directors consisting of various currently serving county and municipal officials; and WHEREAS, such District must adopt and thereafter implement a district solid waste managment plan; and WHEREAS, such District must hold an appropriate public hearing or hearings within the District on the subject of the proposed district solid waste managment plan; and WHEREAS, the District shall have various powers and responsibilities with respect to the control and handling of solid waste within the DistriCt; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI+a'lISSIONERS OF GIBSON COUNTY, INDIANA: l. The individuals holding the following positions in county and municipal qovernments within Gibson County shall make up the Board of Directors of the District and shall serve for a period of time coestensive with their terms in county and/or municipal governments. a. Three members of the County Commissioners of Gibson County appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. b. One member of the County Council appointed by the County Council. c. The Mayor of Princeton. d. One member of the common counci�l of the City of Princeton appointed by the council. e. The Mayor of Oakland City. 2. Such Board of Directors shall be charged with the responsibility of adopting and thereafter implementing an appropriate solid waste management plan pursuant to I.C. 13-9.5-4. 3. The Board oE Directors shall appoint and convene a solid waste management advisory committee pursuant to I.C. 13-9.5-2-10. �. : . a �6 a 4. The Board of Directors shall take all steps reasonably necessary to provide for the collection, control management and final disposal of all solid waste within the District as authorized by the statutes of the State of Indiana. 5.
