ORDZNANCE NO. 2008 - 3
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING DZSBURSEMENT OF COUNTY FUNDS
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-2-6-4.5 provides that notwithstanding
?ndiana Code 5-11-10 that with prior written approval of the Board of
County Commissioners, the Gibson County Auditor may make claim
payments in advance of County Commissioner approval for certain
expenses; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Gibson County has
determined it is in the best interests of Gibson County that said
authorization be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Gibson County, Indiana as follows:
1. The Gibson County Auditor is authorized to make claim
payments in advance of Gibson County Commissioner approval for the
following kinds of expenses:
A. Property or services purchased or leased from the United
State government, its agencies, or its political
subdivisions.
B. License or permit fees.
C. Insurance premiums.
D. Utility payments or utility connection charges.
E. General grant programs where advance funding is not
prohibited and the contracting party posts sufficient
security to cover the amount advanced.
F. Grants of state funds authorized by statute.
G. Maintenance or service agreements.
H. Leases or rental agreements.
Z. Bond or coupon oayments.
J. Payroll.
K. State or federal taxes.
L. Expenses that must be paid because of emergency

circumstances.
M. Expenses incurred under a procurement contract under I.C.
31-25-2-17.
2. Each payment of expenses made under this Ordinance must be
supporced by a fully itemized invoice or bill and certification by
the Gibson County Auditor.
3. The Board of County Commissioners shall review and allow
any payments made hereunder at its next regular or special meeting
following the preapproved payment of the expense.
4. Payment of expenses authorized under this Ordinance must
still be published in the manner provided for by Indiana Code 36-2-6-
3.
5. This Ordinance sha11 be in full force and effect from and
after its passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Gibson
County, Indiana this 20"' day of May, 2008.
