RE30LUTION REGARDING DRUG FREE \q 9 5�
WORRPLACE POLICY
.S, Gibson County, Indiana wishes to comply with the
requirements of the Druq Free Workplace Act 102 STATUTES 4305-
4308; and
WHEREAS, Gibson County desires that its employees be
entitled to work in a drug free workplace.
NOw, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Gibson County, indiana, as follows:
No employee engaqed in work in connection with a federal
grant shall unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess
or use on or in the workplace any narcotic drug, hallucinogenic
drug, amphetamine, barbiturate, marijuana, or any other
controlled substance as defined in Schedules 1-5 of Section 202
of the Controlled Substances Act (21 USC 812).
Workplace" is defined to mean the site for the performance of
work done. This includes any buildinq or any county premises; any
county owned vehicle or any other county approved vehicle; or
where persons under the jurisdiction of the county are working or
where work on a Federal Grant is performed.
As a condition of employment in any Federal Grant or
otherwise, each employee who is engaged in the performance of a
Federal Grant, shall notify his or her supervisor of his or her
conviction of any criminal drug statute for a violation occurring
in the workplace as defined above, no later than five (5) days
after such conviction.
As a condition of employment in any Federal Grant, each
employee who is engaged in the performance of a Federal Grant,

shall abide by the terms of the Gibson County Indiana policy
respecting a druq free workplace. An employee who violates the
terms of this policy may be non-renewed or his or her employment
may be suspended or terminated at the discretion of the Board of
County Commissioners of Gibson County Indiana. As an
alternative, an employee who violates the terms of this policy
may be required to satisfactorily participate in a druq abuse
assistance rehabilitation program approved by the Hoard of County
Commissioners of Gibson County Indiana. If the employee fails to
satisfactorily participate in such proqram, the employee shall be
non-renewed or his or her employment may be suspended or
terminated at the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners
of Gibson County Indiana.
Sanctions aqainst employees including non-renewal,
suspension and termination shall be in accordance with law.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF this Resolution has been ADOPTED by the
Board of County Commissioners of Gibson County, Indiana, this 6th
day of November, 1995.
