Resolutions_2000-5a� RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - -J�O� RE50LUTION DESIGNATING A PORTION OF GIBSON COUNTY, INDIANA AS AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA WHEREAS, the Gibson County Council ("County Council") has been advised by K.C. Transportation/L.auren, LLC ("K.C.") of a potential revitalization program, which may include certain real propeRy redevelopment or rehabilitation and the installation of new manufacturine equipment on certain land (the "Site `) owned by K.C. and located in Gibson Couniy, and has been requested to designate the site, which consists of approximately 10.�2 acres located generally on County Road 100 East, between County Road 350 South and County Road 5�0 South, in Patoka Township as described in the map and legal description which are attached hereto as Exhibits A and B, respectively, and incorporated herein by reference, as an economic revitalization area under and pursuant to I C 6-1. 1- I Z.1; and WHEREAS, the County Council hereby finds that the Site described in Exhibits A and B is an azea which has become undesirable for or impossible of normal development and occupancy because of a lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration of improvement or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence, substandazd buildings and other factors which have impaired values or prevented a normal development of property or use of property and that the designation of said azea as an economic revitalization azea would enhance the oppoRUnity for the creation of new jobs and the protection of the current employment, and -1- , � � WHEREAS, the County Council has considered all relevant information brought to its attention conceming the site, and hereby determines that it is in the best interest of the County to designate the Site as described in Exhibits A and B as an economic revitali7ation azea under and pursuant to IC 6-1.1-12.1; Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Gibson County Council thar. L The Site described in E�chibits A and B attached hereto and made a part hereof is designated as an economic revitalization area within the meaning oflC 6-1.1-12.1. 2. Notice of the adoption and substance of this resolution and all other disclosures required by IC 6-1.1-12.1-2.� shall be duly published in accordance with IC 5-3-1, which notice shall state a date for a public heazing on this resolution and that on that date, after hearing objections and remonstrances and considering evidence thereon, this County Council will take final action determining whether the qualifications for an economic revitalization area have been met and confirming, modifying and confirming, or rescinding this resolution. 3. A copy of ihe above-referenced notice shall be filed with the officers of each ta�cing unit that has authority to levy property tases in the geographic area which is hereby designated as an economic revitalization area at least ten (10) days prior to the public hearing on this resolution. -�- a�►b ADOPTED, this 15 day of February, 2000, by the Gibson County Council, Gibson County, Indiana.
