Gibson County Board of Commissioners 10-16-2012_unbound****************************************************************************** Gibson County Board of Commissioners Regular Session October 16, 2012 ************************************************** **************************** The Gibson County Board of Commissioners met on October 16, 2012, at 6:30 PM at the North Annex Meeting Room. Members Present: Gerald Bledsoe, President, Alan Douglas, VP, Bob Townsend, Commissioner, Kay Vore, Administrative Assistant, Jim McDonald, County Attorney and C.T. Montgomery, County Auditor. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited and led by Gerald Bledsoe. Minutes: The minutes from October 2 and 12, 2012 meetings were read and approved through a motion by Alan Douglas and seconded by Bob Townsend. Motion passed 3-0. Claims: County General $ 69,752.08 Courts $ 1,209.26 Highway $235,490.76 Sheriff $ 44,753.91 Payroll (10-19-2012) $274,038.63 Bob Townsend made a motion to approve the claims and was seconded by Alan Douglas. Motion passed 3-0. Department Reports: EMS Director Dan Alvey gave his monthly report and asked for $45,715.29 in write-offs. Bob Townsend made a motion to approve the request and Alan Douglas seconded the motion and the motion passed 3-0. Old Business: Alan Douglas brought up the Workers Compensation Insurance that was presented by Old National Bank representative John Dyer at the last regular meeting. Eastern Alliance Insurance presented the commissioners with a price of $82,146.00 for the workers compensation insurance for the county. No other insurance company presented a quote. Alan Douglas made a motion to accept the quote from Eastern Alliance Insurance and was seconded by Bob Townsend. Motion passed 3-0. A bid of $89,558.89 for internet wiring from Business Communication Solutions for the sheriff’s office, north annex and the courthouse was read by John Howe and recommended as the low bid. Bob Townsend made a motion to accept the low bid from Business Communication Solutions. Alan Douglas seconded the motion and the motion passed 3-0. Nomad Technology Group made proposals on infrastructure upgrades for the courthouse, north annex and the sheriff’s office. The amount quoted for the sheriff’s office was $13,649.44. The North Annex was $10,826.23 and the courthouse was $ 26,521.42. Bob Townsend made a motion to accept the quotes as presented. Alan Douglas seconded the motion and the motion passed 3-0. Bids for a new ambulance were opened. Fire Service Inc. bid $97,754.00. McCoy bid $92,630.00. Bob Townsend made a motion to take the bids under advisement until the next meeting. Alan Douglas seconded the motion and the motion passed 3-0. The first reading of a tattoo ordinance was presented by the health department and read by county attorney Jim McDonald. Alan Douglas made a motion to approve the publishing of the ordinance in the legal section of the county newspapers. Bob Townsend seconded the motion and the motion passed 3-0. County Auditor C.T. Montgomery presented commissioners with a proposal from SRI to sell unsold properties, from the commissioner’s tax sale, on the internet, after the tax sale. Bob Townsend made a motion to approve the proposal and was seconded by Alan Douglas. Motion passed 3-0. Commissioners approved a major medical leave request from circuit court probation with a motion from Bob Townsend and seconded by Alan Douglas. Motion passed 3-0. Alan Douglas made a motion to adjourn and was seconded by Bob Townsend.
