RESOLIITION OF THE TOWN COIINCIL OF
PATOKA. STATE OF INDIANA. APRIL 10 2002
wHEREAS, heretofore there was filed with the Town Council of
Patoka, Gibson County, Indiana, a Petition pursuant to and in
accordance with the terms and provisions of Indiana Code Section
36-7-3-13 (A) et sea., the Petitioner, Marcella Whitaker of Patoka,
Gibson County, Indiana.
AND WHEREAS, statutory notice of the streets to be vacated was
given by published notice in the Princeton Daily Clarion, a
newspaper of General Circulation printed in the English language
which said notices were published on March 21, 2002 and March 28,
2002, both publications being more than ten (10) days prior to the
date of hearing for consideration of the vacation of said street
being the lOth day of April, 2002, at 7:00 o'clock P.M.
NOW THEREFORE, the Town Council, Patoka, Gibson County,
Indiana, having read and examined the Petition to Vacate said
streets lying inside the corporate limits of the Town of Patoka,
having seen, read and examined the affidavit of publication by the
Princeton Daily Clarion, Inc., finds as follows:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF PATOKA,
GIBSON COUNTY, INDIANA, that the platted street named "High" lying
inside the corporate limits of the Town of Patoka situate on the
real estate herein described be vacated, to-wit:

The west half of High Street east and adjacent to Lot 7 in Columbia
Division to the Town of Patoka, Gibson County, Indiana and further
described as follows: -
Begin at a point at the northeast corner of Lot 7 in Columbia
Division to the Town of Patoka and measure east, along the south
side of Poplar Street, a distance of 30.00 feet thence measure
south, parallel to the east line of said Lot 7, a distance of
148.50 feet; thence measure west, a distance of 30.00 feet to the
southeast corner of said lot; thence measure north, a distance of
148.50 feet to the place of beginning and containing o.102 acres.
The above description was furnished by Ronald E. Morrison, RLS
n50314.
That the West half of High Street east and adjacent to Lot 7
in Columbia Division, Town of Patoka, Indiana, which measures
thirty feet (30') wide and one hundred and forty-eight and one-half
feet (148.5") in length shall be vacated.
Said above description shall become the property of M ra cella
E. Whitaker, widow.

The east half of High Street west and adjacent to Lot 24 in
Columbia Division to the Town of Patoka, Gibson County, Indiana,
and further described as follows:
Begin at a point at the northwest corner of Lot 24 in Columbia
Division to the Town of Patoka and measure west, along the south
side of Poplar Street, a distance of 30.00 feet thence measure
south, parallel to the west line of said Lot 24, a distance of
148.50 feet, thence measure east, a distance of 30.00 feet to the
southwest corner of said lot, thence measure north, a distance of
148.50 feet to the place of beginning.
That the East half of High Street west and adjacent to Lot 24
in Columbia Division, Town of Patoka, Indiana which measures thirty
feet (30�) wide and one hundred and forty-eight and one-half feet
(148.5') in length shall be vacated.
Said above described property shall become the property of
Robert A. Meeks and Inez D. Meeks, husband and wife.

AND FIIRTHER, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COIINCIL OF PATORA,
GIBSON COIINTY, INDIANA, that the request to vacate the platted
street named "Poplar'� is hereby denied. The Town Council
determined that the vacating of Poplar Street as requested on the
Petition to Vacate would hinder the growth or orderly development
of the neighborhood in which it is located or contiguous.
