The Gibson County Board of Commissioners met on January 15, 2013, at 6:30 PM at the North
Annex Meeting Room.
Members Present: Gerald Bledsoe, President, Alan Douglas, VP, Steve Bottoms, Commissioner,
Kay Vore, Administrative Assistant, Jim McDonald, County Attorney and Sherri Smith, County
Auditor.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and Welcome were recited and led by Gerald Bledsoe.
Minutes: The minutes from January 2, 2013 meeting were read and approved through a motion
by Alan Douglas and seconded by Steve Bottoms. Motion passed 3-0.
Claims:
Court System - S 10,202.73
Highway Department- S44,800.73
Sheriff Department- S88,688.35
County General - S285,576.37
Payroll 01/11/13 - 5326,159.10
• Alan Douglas made a motion to approve the claims, seconded by Steve Bottoms. Motion passed
3-0.
Department Reports:
EMS —2012 Collections Reported by Dan Alvey totaled S1,239,362.85.
Write-offs for December totaled $42,780.52—Alan Douglas made motion, Steve Bottoms
seconded. Motion passed 3-0. President Bledsoe asked Dan Alvey to explain the 5 year report
describing"actual runs" versus "billable runs" in further detail.
Sheriff Ballard reported during New Business — Distributed 2012 Reports displaying Collections,
Firearms Licenses, Tax Warrants, 911 Calls and Tickets. He also stated that all patrol cars were
now equipped with e-ticket or electronic ticket capability that reads/processes bar codes located
on driver's license and registration. Electronic traffic tickets are issued/printed right from the
car. At the end of shift, the Officer pulls up to the Station, sends ticket information to the Jail,
the Clerk's office and the State of Indiana with a click of a button. Increase in 911 calls,
elimination of land-lines and enhanced 911 calls or NG (Next Generation) were also discussed.

2013 Appointments Continued
Sub-Division Review Committee - John Howe— Steve Bottoms made motion, Alan Douglas
seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Owensville-Montgomery Fire District (to replace appointee, which moved out of territory) —
Alan Douglas made motion to appoint Jeff Roberts and to finish one year term, Steve Bottoms
seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

included in the minutes.
New Business:
Quit Claim Deed — County Attorney, Jim McDonald stated, out by Waste Management's new
facility, located by dumpsters on Old Highway 41 there is a sliver of ground, we need to transfer
to Solid Waste Management (about .6 acre, and part of the old traction line). Steve Bottoms
made motion to deed land to Solid Waste Management, Alan Douglas seconded. Motion passed
3-0.
Covered Bridge Clarification and Certification of two bridges within Gibson County— Alan
Douglas made motion, Steve Bottoms seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Adiourn: Alan Douglas made motion to adjourn, Steve Bottoms seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
