To Gibson County Auditor & Staff:
In the past few months the Gibson County Assessor's Office has reviewed/compared the Forest
& Wildlife Reserve Parcels with information from the DNR (Department of Natural Resources)
and recorded documents in the Gibson County Recorder's Office.
We found that the Brief Legal Descriptions were all over the place with no uniformity and some
just simply wrong. The Gibson County Assessor's Office has since made the Brief Legal
Descriptions correct, uniform and easier for the taxpayers to understand what acreage is or is not
Forest/Wildlife Reserve.
The Assessor's Office is requesting from the Gibson County Auditor's Office to change/correct
the Forest/Wildlife Reserve parcel legal descriptions to MATCH the legal descriptions provided
on the attached spreadsheets. By matching the legal descriptions in both the Auditor's and
Assessor's Office there would be no confusion to the taxpayer.
Please change/correct the legal descriptions for the 2025 pay 2026 tax billing cycle and in
forward years, except for parcels with changes from split parent parcels. These parcels are noted
on the spreadsheets.
